Noodling on feedback from running S&P at an in-person local game day last weekend

Character sheet feedback: improve readability, include more guidance on the sheet itself as well as short synopsis of character/character conceptSystem feedback: repetitiveness causing confusion

  • The Power attribute will be renamed Resolve (RES)

  • The attribute abbreviations will be adjusted to be mostly consistent:

    • Competence (COM)

    • Prowess (PRO)

    • Cunning (CNG)

    • Resolve (RES)

    • Knowledge (KNO)

    • Stature (STA)

  • Powers, the trait, will be renamed Preternae

  • Talents, the trait, will be renamed Spheres, opens up room for more possibilities to include (e.g. contacts, distinctions, reputation, could even be a divide between talents and expertise)

  • Skills will have the option of active and reactive options available to the player, the automatic skills having both active and reactive baked in from the start and skills unlocked from Competence initially having either only active or reactive with the option to add the other through character advancement.

    • This allows for more flexibility and less situations where someone wants to persuade/convince/intimidate but doesn’t have that unlocked as a skill;

    • All of the automatic skills are nonviolent from the outset, meaning that skills used to initiate attack challenges, and as a result begin violent encounters, have to be unlocked to be better than “untrained” with them

Below are examples of Chargufs’ character sheet from Lanterns Held Aloft, before the above changes and after.
