Revisiting Old Faces (a series)

5.5 D&D versions of characters I've played in previous years (editions)

With the advent of 5.5 D&D (aka 2024-2025) I’ve decided to build characters I’ve played in previous years, campaigns, editions.

We begin with Darach Odhran, wood elf druid, using this new Circle of the Land subclass.

I first played Darach in 2e AD&D as a wood elf ranger/druid multiclass with the Wilderness Runner kit from the Complete Ranger’s Handbook in a Birthright campaign when I lived in New Jersey, c. 2000-2001. He wound up becoming more druid than ranger.

I don’t really feel like I enjoy multiclassing in 5e so I decided to make him all druid, choosing the Warden Primal Order option to make him a more martial character. He’ll focus more on combat, combining with his Wild Companion Faolan (a wolf) and other summoned creature allies.
